Daedalus - brass quintet

(Latin for Daedalus, derived from the Greek Daidalos) is a piece that develops from the alternation of two musical ideas, one based on the rapid repetition of notes and the other based on arpeggios and long notes. Variations of these ideas occur throughout alternating sessions, in which each particular material is also explored in an attempt to construct two musical tempos that are independent of each other.
